Welcome to The Old Nursery Apartment and The Gun Room, located at Bourton Manor near Much Wenlock in Shropshire's beautiful Corvedale within easy reach of Shropshire's main attractions. Fashionable Ludlow, Much Wenlock (birthplace of the modern Olympic Games), Historic Ironbridge with all it's museums and industrial heritage, Church Stretton and Shrewsbury all less than a 30 minute drive away. Wenlock Edge is a short walk from the Manor. Our local, The Feathers at Brockton (2 miles), serves excellent food. There is a good choice of pubs and restaurants within easy reach and we are happy to recommend our personal favorites to guests.
Bourton Manor was designed in 1874 for Lord Wenlock by the renowned architect Richard Norman Shaw. It is a large rambling house built in the romantic old English style.
The Old Nursery Apartment is a self catering apartment located on the first floor of Bourton Manor and has its own private staircase entrance from the cobbled courtyard. It has recently been the subject of an extensive sympathetic renovation project creating a traditional yet contemporary living space.
The Master bedroom has a king size bed with luxurious Designer Guild bedding and modern en-suite shower room. The cosy twin bedroom has its own good size bathroom immediately across the hallway. The Kitchen & Sitting room reflect the Arts & Crafts influence at Bourton having a rare sideways sash window with, equally unusual, Pugin vertical shutters. The elegant sitting room has a comfortable sofa & chairs where guests can relax. There is a 32” wall mounted Sony television with DVD/CD player. The Kitchen/Sitting room are offset creating a sociable space where anyone in the kitchen will not feel left out! There is a selection of board games, cards, books & DVD’s for the enjoyment of guests. The kitchen is bright and well equipped and includes a ceramic top Electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave & large fridge/freezer. A washer/dryer is provided within the apartment.
Outside there is an area of shared garden where guests can relax and enjoy a fabulous view over rolling countryside. There is parking for two cars.
The Gun Room has been designed as an escape for two and is the most luxurious of our three self catering properties. There is a large but cosy sitting room (the old gun room) which has the most comfortable large Duresta sofa and chair, Persian carpets, cast iron stove, fine fabrics and working shutters with a pretty oval dining table, flat screen HD TV and wireless internet connection. The handmade painted kitchen has oak worktops and is equipped with Bosch dishwasher, oven, hob & microwave as well as a washer/dryer and fridge. Stairs lead up from the kitchen to a landing off which is the bathroom with large double ended bath with Aqualisa shower over and a separate shower to wash your hair. The beautiful bedroom is large, light and airy with a magnificent king size four poster bed, antique furniture and Osborne & Little Fabrics. There are beautiful views from the two large windows look out south across the Corvedale and west across the coach yard to the neighbouring Norman church.

Outside there is an area of shared garden with a selection of garden furniture where guests can relax and enjoy the view over the Bourton Estate and The Corvedale.
The Old Nursery and The Gun Room both have Broadband wireless internet.

From Much Wenlock take the B4378 towards Shipton and Craven Arms. After 2 1/4 miles you will see the village sign for Bourton on your left. Bourton Manor drive is next on the left.
