Wrexham & Shropshire puts on special train for Three Peaks charity team

in Shrewsbury Wrexham & Shropshire puts on special train for Three Peaks charity team

The challenge sees Richard Sturgess, Wrexham & Shropshire's Technical Engineer, and a team of engineers from sister company, Chiltern Railways, take on the highest peaks in the UK for the second year running. To ensure the team get to all the points along the route on time, Wrexham & Shropshire is putting on a special train. Drivers, guards and stewards will make sure that the fundraisers are well looked after on the train as they are transported from peak to peak - finishing the entire event in around 36 hours.

Preparing for the event, Richard Sturgess said: "This is the second time I have taken part in the Three Peaks Challenge. I was bowled over by the generous support we received last year and are grateful for the continued enthusiasm shown by our industry colleagues. We hope this year we can raise even more money for a very worth-while cause."

Andy Hamilton, Managing Director at Wrexham & Shropshire said: "We are keen to support the team and the cause in any way we can which is why we have put on a special train to take them along the route. The Three Peaks challenge is tough but many of the participants have already proved they are up to it. Wrexham & Shropshire is here to make travelling in between as easy as possible."
