The Big Busk - Saturday 6th April 2013 - 10am onwards in Shrewsbury Town Centre

The Big Busk - Saturday 6th April 2013 - 10am onwards in Shrewsbury Town Centre This event in the Easter holidays provides an excellent opportunity for children and families to experience a wide range of music from opera to folk and modern pop whilst enjoying a day out in Shrewsbury Town Centre.

Some key highlights of the day:

• Three opera performances is the Darwin shopping centre at 12pm, 1.50pm & 2.40pm   by professional opera singer Jayne Carpenter

• The Democratic Republic of Djembe (African drumming) in the Pride Hill shopping centre 11.20 am & 12.20

• Local singer songwriters performing in locations around the town from 11am, including Pride Hill, Butcher Row & Mardol.

• Jigsaw Sound choir will be in the Shrewsbury Market at 1.30pm filling the area with choral music

• The massed ukulele bands of Shrewsbury Strummers & Bridgnorth Ukulele will be busking all over the town but will start their tour at 11am in the Shrewsbury Market Hall.

• Visiting guests from Cheshire ‘Nantwich Nukes’ will be performing outside Claremont Baptist Church at 1.30 pm

• Others performing throughout the day include The Ronaldos, The Caves, Not Completely Blond & many many more.

There will also be opportunity to find out more about the work of The Shrewsbury Ark, Shrewsbury Street Pastors and Shrewsbury Food Bank. All monies raised on the day through busking will be given to the Shrewsbury Ark www.shrewsburyark.co.uk
