The annual tasting, which takes place in Tanners' Dickensian premises in the medieval market town of Shrewsbury on the evenings of 18th and 19th November, is a relaxed and informal tasting of over 40 festive wines from around the world.
This year, for the first time, Tanners is joining forces with three of the town's best known hotels - The Lion, The Prince Rupert and Drapers Hall - to offer combined wine tasting and hotel tickets to encourage people from further afield to visit Tanners, taste its wines and enjoy a pre-Christmas break in Shrewsbury.
Managing Director, James Tanner, fourth generation of the family to run the business explained: "Tanners has a national reputation for the high quality of its huge range of wines but many of our customers may not be aware that we have been based in the same fascinating building for 167 years. At the tasting they will not only have the opportunity to try a great range of wines for the festive period they will also be able to soak up the atmosphere, learn more about our history and then enjoy a meal followed by bed and breakfast in one of the town€™s best hotels. We hope visitors will decide to stay here for a few days."
Tickets are just £17.50 per person for tasting only and £61.50 for tasting, bed & breakfast (with optional three course evening meal at £20). Any wine order can be delivered anywhere in mainland UK (except Highlands) for £7.95 or FREE on orders over £90.
