Led by TV chef, Marcus Bean (This Morning, Iron Chef), and his wife, Jenny, Brompton Cookery School is based on a National Trust property near Shrewsbury, Shropshire, and offers a wide range of cooking classes for adults and children. The cookery school has a large, custom-built kitchen-classroom which caters for 16 budding chefs at a time. Due to high demand, the original cookers were in need of an upgrade - which is when British cooking appliance Stoves stepped in, providing the school with nine Stoves Sterling 900Ei range cookers in a modern stainless steel finish. The cookery school team chose these models as they provide plenty of cooking space across the three cavities and the induction hobs allow for safer, faster and greener stove-top cooking.
Marcus Bean, partner at Brompton Cookery School said: “We are delighted to use Stoves ovens in the cookery school as they provide all the space and features we need for our classes, and the induction hobs are safer, cleaner and more energy efficient.”
“It was also important to us that the appliances are made in the UK. We’re firm believers in using local producers and seasonal ingredients. So it’s great that we have been able to continue this ethos with our cooking appliances too.”
Jane Rylands, Head of Marketing Communications for Stoves, said: “The classes that Marcus and the team at Brompton Cookery School provide help would-be chefs and home cooks really make a statement in the kitchen, and that is also something our appliances are aimed at helping people to do.
“We’re really proud of our heritage and made-in-Britain credentials so partnering with a School that has such a great focus on using locally sourced ingredients to create show-stopping meals is perfect for us too.”
Stoves is part of the UK’s only major cooking appliance manufacturers committed to producing all its cooking appliances here in the UK. From its factory in Prescot, Merseyside, Stoves builds ovens, cookers and hobs designed and built with British cooks in mind.
Alongside Marcus, other chefs and experts who teach at Brompton Cookery School include Robert Swift (a local artisan baker), David Parker (a professional chef with an expertise in Indian and Asian cuisine), Liz Knight (an expert forager) and Angelina Cupcakes (a baking and sugarcraft expert).
