The Glutton Club initially planned to open for one month only, based on the 'pop-up restaurant' style of dining but owing to feedback from diners about the excellent quality of food and current location (at the former site of Frank Café Bar, next to Theatre Severn), the new Shrewsbury restaurant is now here to stay.
Speaking about the decision, George Cavendish, the young, ambitious local chef behind The Glutton Club, said "We are proud to announce that due to popular demand in the month of December, we are staying where we are. The comments from diners have been fantastic and everyone here at The Glutton Club really values the support. Thank you Shrewsbury!"
The restaurant was very busy in December, so I would like to encourage people who haven't been able to get a table yet, to contact us now to avoid disappointment. In particular we would like to invite you to join us to celebrate Charles Darwin’s 204th birthday on the 12th of February. As he is Shrewsbury's most influential resident it seems only fitting that we create a Darwin themed set menu for all to enjoy. We will be publishing our “Darwin's Birthday” menu for the 12th of February very soon, so if you wish to find out more about the day, or wish to book a table please call us on 01743 361672."
Posts on the Glutton Club's Facebook page, include the following from Ed Freeman, "Enjoyed a great lamb roast last Sunday. Would highly recommend to anyone in Shropshire. Looking forward to going back soon to explore the main menu. The Chefs demonstrate techniques that really aren't common place in Shrewsbury. Nice to be able to have a chat with the guys who run it too. Cheers."
John Lye said, “What a wonderful meal last night at the Glutton Club. Had the rib of beef to share, which was divine. I'm tempted not to tell anyone of this gem, for fear of never getting back in again."
The Glutton Club is open Tuesday - Thursday 3pm - 11:30pm; Friday 12midday – 11:30pm; Saturday 10am – 12midnight and Sunday 10am - 4pm. Call 01743 361672 or 07969126744 to book; visit the website www.gluttonclubrestaurant.co.uk, or go to Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/TheGluttonClubShrewsbury
