The Shrewsbury Quarry Park and Pengwern Boat Club will attract a large crowd at the annual Shrewsbury Dragon Boat Race and Festival on Sunday 21st June. The Dragon Boat Festival is organised by the Severn Hospice as a fundraising event and will be held on the River Severn in Shrewsbury.
Teams will compete along a 250m course in 40 foot long, brightly coloured dragon boats, with up to sixteen rowers, a drummer to beat out the rhythm for the paddlers, and a professional helmsman provided by the organisers.
