Edward Wood, managing director of Wood’s, said he wanted to mark the occasion with a new drink and decided to let fans name the brew after running a competition on Facebook and the Blue and Amber message board.
Edward said: “We wanted to come up with a special brew for the Chelsea game . We thought we’d let the fans name it and we had a brilliant response. Richie Dunse, from Harlescott, came up with ‘Blues & Amber’ while Jane Pittaway, from Meole Brace, came up with a strapline of ‘Our Special Mon’ – a play on José Mourhino’s phrase The Special One.
