Date: 25-29 May 2015
Time: 11.30am to 3.30pm
Cost: £3.00 per person.
Packed with genuine RAF uniforms dating back to World War Two and flying suits from the Cold War era, this event is perfect for any budding aviators to sample what it's like to dress in military attire. Plus, children can try on all the helmets, hats, goggles and accessories to complete the look as well as wartime civilian clothing.
Not only do participants get to have fun trying out the different uniforms, once they are happy with their chosen outfit they can step inside the 1940s themed photo booth and pose for the camera. Each participant will receive a printout of three photos to take home as a fun and fitting memento of the day.
RAF Museum Cosford Public Events Manager Abi Betteridge said:
"We're thrilled to be offering this brand new event to our visitors. The museum has hundreds of uniforms and artefacts within the collection, and it’s great to be able to bring these out for our half term activity. Families will be given the unique opportunity to dress up in these iconic uniforms and capture the moment in our wartime photo booth."
Suitable for children of all ages, the event will take place in the Museum's Hangar 1 and sessions will run from 11.30am to 3.30pm each day and participation is just £3.00 per person. Adults accompanying children who also want to join in with the family fun are free of charge and tickets can be purchased from Admissions on arrival at the Museum. All the necessary dressing up clothing and accessories will be provided by the Museum and all participants will receive a photo to take home.
For further information about the Museum, please visit the Museum website www.rafmuseum.org or call 01902 376200. The Museum is open daily from 10am and entry to the Museum is FREE of charge.
