Curlew Country Sculpture & Song

in Shrewsbury Saturday 9th July, Norbury Village Hall, 8.30 – 10pm

The Curlew Country Arts Project comes to a close with a lantern parade and poems, sculpture and song. This is the culmination of a series of public workshops to celebrate our local curlew population. The Curlew Country Choir will perform a number of especially composed songs, written by poet Karen Lloyd, and put to music by choir leader, Mary Keith. Local sculptor, Bill Sample, will lead a curlew lantern parade and imagery by acclaimed photographer Ben Osborne will celebrate Curlew Country activities over the last couple of months. Curlew Country was inspired by Mary Colwell-Hector and her 500 mile Curlew Walk to raise awareness of the drastic decline in curlews. Find out more at

This is a free event, donations to the Curlew Appeal appreciated. Please wear outdoor clothing as the event includes some outdoor walking.
