This formal evening event is being held on Saturday 30th August and is packed with entertainment and indulgencies throughout. Following a champagne reception within the Museum's National Cold War Exhibition, attendees will be wowed by a helicopter flypast. Eurocopters are used by air forces around the world and are operational with the Royal Air Force in the UK, based at RAF Shawbury near Shrewsbury.
Adding a touch of formality to proceedings will be a military sunset ceremony with buglers and an RAF Cosford honour guard. A piper will then escort the guests into the Museum's War Planes Hangar for a fine dining experience, surrounded by an historic aircraft collection. Guests can sit back and enjoy a gourmet four course dinner accompanied by a selection of fine wines, before being entertained with live musical performances throughout the evening.
One of the evening's highlights will be performances from the RAF 'Shades of Blue' Swing Band who are guaranteed to have guests up on their feet and dancing the night away. Plus, a disco will ensure that guests are having a good time late into the evening.
A fantastic prize auction and grand raffle, bursting with a wide range of unique items and experiences will give guests the opportunity to purchase those special things that ‘money can’t buy’. Some of the incredible prizes on offer include: the chance to enjoy a VIP afternoon for two with the Red Arrows, or for those who are brave enough, the opportunity to have an aerobatics flight with Wing Commander Andy Green, an RAF fighter pilot and World Land Speed Record holder. Other prizes on offer include a Spitfire book signed by two Battle of Britain Pilots and a Cosford flying club experience to name but a few.
This glittering Centenary Charity Ball will commemorate the First World War and help raise much needed funds for the two organising charities - RAF Benevolent Fund and the RAF Museum. The RAF Benevolent Fund gives vital support to RAF servicemen and women past and present and their families, who need financial, emotional or practical support. Money raised will also go towards maintaining the growing aircraft collection at the RAF Museum.
Simon Footer, RAF Benevolent Fund Regional Director says:
"This Ball is going to be a very special event in a very special location. Table sales are going very well and the evening is shaping up to be fabulous, with a whole range of entertaining elements. It’s certainly one not to be missed and what better way to support two very worthy RAF charities"
This is a unique corporate entertaining and networking opportunity with tables of 10 or individual seats available.
