The Old Forge Bed and Breakfast, run by Colin and Wendy Pearce, offers two twin bedrooms and a family/double room all of which are en-suite. We pride ourselves on our local produce and full English breakfast. There is a menu available if guests wish to choose something different.
The Old Forge once was a very busy blacksmith and forge and the blacksmith and his family once lived in the adjoining cottages which have now been converted into the Bed and Breakfast house. Each room is centrally heated and double glazed with flat-screen TV incorporating built-in Freeview and DVD which can also be used for radio and CDs. Also in each room there is tea and coffee making facilities with biscuits; hairdryer, radio alarm clock, complimentary 25cl red and white wine; hand and bath towels.
There is a sitting room which is very cosy with TV and a log-burning stove.
In the village, part of which is in a conservation area, is a convenience store (The Knockin Shop), post office and church. There are numerous pubs within a four-mile radius which offers evening meals. Also there is a Chinese Restaurant and Takeaway three miles away.
The nearest towns to Knockin are Oswestry (5 miles), Shrewsbury (15 miles) and Chester (30 miles).
Places of interest include: Powis Castle (National Trust); Whittington Castle; Offa’s Dyke; the Heritage Area at Llanymynech; Lake Vyrnwy; Llanrhaeadr Waterfall; Chirk Aqueduct; Pontcysyllte Aqueduct (World Heritage Site); Ellesmere Lakes, Llangollen (Canal and Steam Railway) and Welshpool and Llanfair Narrow Gauge Steam Railway. About 30 miles away is the world-famous Ironbridge with its ten museums including the famous Blists Hill Victorian Town where visitors can go back 100 years and experience characters in their Victorian costumes. At Maesbury (two miles away) there is a canal-side café situated in a beautiful setting on the idyllic Montgomery Canal.
There are some 25 golf courses in Shropshire, four of which are close to Knockin.
Knockin is a wonderful area and base for fishing, cycling, walking, etc. which are all easily accessible.

The Old Forge is situated next to the Bradford Arms in Knockin. Knockin is situated on the B4396, about two miles from the main A5 (London to Holyhead road). Oswestry is some 7 miles, Shrewsbury about 15 miles and the A483 (South Wales to Chester road), Llynclys crossroads is about 5 miles.
