Welcome to Olympian Shropshire

Welcome to Olympian Shropshire Shropshire is turning back the clocks to 1864 when Shrewsbury will once again host the Shropshire Olympian Festival on 17th, 18th and 19th June in the Quarry Park with the biggest cultural festival Shropshire has ever seen.

As well as traditional sports, arts and carnival events, it will also include rustic games such as Tossing the Bale, Catching the Pig, Putting the Shot, the 8 legged Race and Jingling.   There will be hundreds of costumed characters and historic entertainments including a Victorian Funfair and Photo Booth, Crafts and Artwork, Punch & Judy, Jugglers, Street Theatre Shows, Penny Farthing Display, Music in the Bandstand, Regatta, Coracles, Dramatic Performances, Poetry Recitation, Morris dancing, Maypole, Equestrian events – including the ancient art of ‘Tilting’ and the largest massed choir ever seen in Shropshire singing the Festival Anthem.
