Top Up Tours Starting May 28th

Top Up Tours Starting May 28th Due to overwhelming demand from our visitors we are pleased to announce the launch of our newest tour at the Dana Prison, the 'Top Up Tour'.

From 28th May we will be introducing our new tour specifically designed for those that have been on our 'Prison Tours' and wanted to see more.

The 'Top up Tour' will explore the old gatehouse from public hangings of old to its modern day use. Remember the story of 'Fergie' the drug dog, take a stroll past her kennel before visiting the workshops, chapel, gymnasium and the 9 unmarked graves. See the spot of the old infirmary and the original hanging shed before entering the officers mess.

From here it's a short walk to the morgue then up to the top floor of D Wing to explore the records room, with views reaching out over the walls and across the Severn. Your journey will go through the video link and take you to the window where the condemned man would watch the final service before his execution. Finally head down through the original chapel with a quick stop in healthcare before finishing in the Governors office.

Tours are 1 hour 15 minutes and are led by our excellent prison officers. You can book your Top Up Tour here
