The award was presented by wine writer, Anthony Rose, to Tanners Managing Director, James Tanner at a dinner of about 400 people including many of the top people in the wine trade, journalists and producers from around the world.
James Tanner commented: “The regional category covers the whole of the UK outside London. It is widely acknowledged that the UK has the best wine merchants in the world so it's no mean accomplishment.
I consider the accolade to be very much a team achievement and testament to all those efforts by our staff to give a great offering and going that extra mile for our customers.”
