SIGNIFICANT MILESTONE’ IS REACHED AS 100TH EXHIBITOR SIGNS UP TO THE BIG ART SHOW Organisers of The Big Art Show are pleased to announce Kiki Jewellery as the 100th exhibitor to sign up for this year’s event.

Held at the West Mid Showground in Shrewsbury over the first weekend in July (3rd, 4th and 5th) The Big Art Show aims to provide a showcase for artists using a diverse range formats and presentation through the use of paint, sculpture, jewellery, glass, ceramics, furniture design, photography and performance art. The event, aimed at the whole family, includes exhibitors, workshops and talks given by the artists, a real bar, eateries and live music.

Oswestry based Kiki Jewellery was established in 2011 by Angela Georgiou. Ms Georgiou studied jewellery and silversmithing HND in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, a degree in applied arts at Glyndwr University in Wrexham and holds a L3/4 preparation for teaching in the lifelong learning sector award (PTLLS). As well as selling her own jewellery and taking specific commissions she also teaches introductory and intermediate silversmith courses at her workshop and Walford & North Shropshire College.

Commenting on her acceptance to The Big Art Show, she said: “This is very exciting for me and will be Kiki Jewellery’s first proper exhibition. Although I studied art ten years ago and in particular found a niche as a silversmith, it was only after my son started school that I finally I decided to set up by myself. At the moment I’m living the dream and to be exhibiting at an event like The Big Art Show, which is so close to where I live, is just great.”

“Congratulations to Kiki Jewellery for becoming the 100th exhibitor at The Big Art Show. To reach such a significant milestone at this stage of planning means that we are well on the way to achieving our goal of at least 130 exhibitors. As well introducing her super range of jewellery to the public, she will also be running a number of silversmithing taster sessions over the three days of the show. Her enthusiasm, skill and knowledge are exactly what is required to make this year’s event exciting and interesting to attend,” said The Big Art Show organiser David Dawkins
