Amongst all of this, one of our favourite December events would have to be the Shrewsbury Winter Festival (December 9th and 10th). For two days, Shrewsbury’s Quarry Park is filled with exhibitors, food & drink stalls, activities for the kids and an evening restaurant hosted in giant Nordic Tipis, aptly named the Avalanche Restaurant.
The Pop-Up Avalanche Restaurant & Bar runs from December 7th-9th, at the North end of Quarry park, adjacent to the leisure centre. Back for a third consecutive year by popular demand, the restaurant offers more than just a meal. Begin the night with some canapes, before moving onto a delicious feast. For the meat-eaters; rich cuts of meat paired with various sauces and sides to give these classic dishes a contemporary spin. For the vegetarians, gone are the days of predictable nut roasts and risottos. Instead, the much-loved Wellington dish with a vegetarian twist, and other delectable dishes to please the palette. This is all followed by a selection of 10 different desserts. You’re welcomed to try every one!
Dinner is followed by a night of dancing and live music. Our bartenders at the cash pay bar will be serving you drinks all night long. Sit down with a drink and a marshmallow to roast around our open fires, or show your moves on the dance floor. Take home the memories by posing in our Ski-gondola Photobooth, complete with props. All of this in the warm and lavish comfort of our beautifully decorated Tipis.
All group sizes and special dietary requirements welcome. Bespoke packages for corporate Christmas parties are also available. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with any questions.
