The lucky overall winner will not only have their photo displayed in the charity calendar, but also on the prized front cover. They will also win a pair of first class tickets for a trip to London. The remaining eleven winners whose photos are selected to feature in the calendar will also receive a classic Wrexham & Shropshire mug.
Jo Phillips, Marketing Executive at Wrexham & Shropshire, said: “Our trains run direct between Wrexham, Shropshire, the West Midlands and London Marylebone. So, whether you’re planning a day trip or a weekend away, you might as well pack your camera and get snap happy! After all, it’s for a great cause.”
The company has supported the Railway Children charity, which supports 12 million street children living in poor conditions in India, since it launched a direct service to London Marylebone back in 2008. The calendar will be available to purchase on trains from late Autumn for just £10 (or by mail order for £12). For each calendar sold, 50p will go directly to the charity to support their essential work.
Wrexham & Shropshire is keen to see creative shots of its trains - from anywhere along the route – on stations, or perhaps on-board or including staff – and preferably showing off the company’s distinctive branding.
