Costumed actors from Sundial Theatre Company will perform scenes from their own version of a Sherlock Holmes murder mystery at 11.30am and 2.30pm. The legendary detective and his trusty sidekick Dr Watson were created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle in the late Victorian era and this light-hearted take on his classic mysteries is certain to raise a smile.
Then put your own detective skills to the test by following a cryptic trail set by criminal mastermind Professor Moriarty, Holmes’ arch enemy, solve the clues and win a prize.
Dad can also pit his strength in a tug of war on The Green at 1.30pm, or why not buy him a pint and pork pie and join in the lively sing-a-long in the New Inn pub.
Other family activities throughout the day include candle dipping in the Goods Shed using Victorian techniques to make multi-coloured candles to take home and a ride on the horse-drawn bus between 1.30pm and 3pm.
