In the maze of Shrewsbury's medieval streets and steeples, Cromwells Bar and Restaurant with Rooms provides hospitality in larde measure. With it's lively bar, historic oak-panelled restaurant, secluded walled garden and quirky but comfortable bedrooms, we have everything you need under one roof.
Our hand-picked team of staff is fully committed to the pursuit of excellence, and constantly strive to make Cromwells a special place. Enjoy the finest cuisine with inspirational dishes prepared from traditionally produced local ingrediants at the height of their flavour. We serve an ecletic blend of a la carte, bar food and splendid family Sunday lunches with friendly efficient service in relaxinmg surroundings.
Menus change regularly to make the most of the fabulous seasonal produce grown locally in Shropshire. The bar is lively and atmospheric, serving Shropshire real ales, Herefordshire cider and an exciting selection of wines from around the world. It leads to a delightful walled garden terrace, from which you can hear the bells of Housman's 'steepled vision' tolling daily.
We also have six rooms, four doubles, one twin and one for families, which have been recently lovingly restored. Boasting a host of original features and furnished in harmony with its 15th century origins as a coaching inn, each room has retained an individual charm, whilst retaining the comforts and luxuries of modern living. Indulge yourself in hearty Shropshire breakfasts of free-range eggs with sausages and bacon from our award-winning butcher. Alternatively, if you are feeling romantic (or lazy), we'll deliver a tray to your room. All of our rooms are non-smokinmg, so we ask real addicts to confine themselves to the garden or bar area. Cromwells has something for everyone - families, tourists, business travellers and locals. We are constantly striving to keep our guests happy to exceed their justifiably high expectations, and with this in mind we often promote new events and products which can be viewed on our website. Whether we're offering a fabulous romantic weekend accommodation package, live jazz in our atmospheric bar, a Murder Mystery Weekend or simply promoting a new and exciting local real ale we're sure you'll find something to tempt you back to Cromwells time and time again!
